Noida: Stepping up its efforts to enhance global academic exposure and cross-cultural sensitivity, Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Noida recently conducted an International Immersion Program for its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) students in Malaysia. The five-day program was equally divided between academics, industry outings, and exposure to cultures, and was meant to equip the students with future skills and business acumen globally.

The program emphasized the current global business trends like Artificial Intelligence in logistics, Data Analytics for supply chain management, green supply chain practices, and city smart development. These current issues were covered through a sequence of sessional presentation and experiential learning activities. One of the other aspects of the program was the scholarly engagement with Lincoln University Malaysia, where the students attended inspiring lectures and concluded their experience in a valedictory session and certificate awarding ceremony in appreciation of their participation in this globally acclaimed program.

Speaking about the program, Director General IMS Noida Prof. Dr. Vikas Dhawan stated, “At IMS Noida, we believe in the conviction that learning should not be limited to classrooms and frontiers. The Malaysia Immersion Program was designed with the purpose of providing our students with global perspective, future-ready skills, and first-hand experience of global business practices. Global exposure is crucial in molding future-thinking leaders and globally impactful professionals.”

“An amalgam of mind challenging and exposure to the rich Malaysian culture, the students interfaced with the nation’s deep-rooted heritage. Ranging from Kuala Lumpur city tour and experiences of iconic sites such as Minera Tower and Putrajaya to excursions to Batu Caves and picturesque Genting Highlands, the experience enhanced their appreciations for cross-cultural diversity and world perspectives” Dr. Dhawan added.

This International Immersion Program has benefited the PGDM students of IMS Noida with essential insights into global business practices and sensitivity towards cultures. Thus, they return not just with better knowledge in a classroom but also with broader vision, better equipped to take up the leadership roles in this more globalized world economy of today.
