100 government school principals and teachers participated in the Road Safety Convention

This event, a key initiative of HMSIº£½ÇÖ±²¥ ongoing project –ÌýMindset Development for Our Future Generation, underscores the company’s dedication to cultivate road safety consciousness from an early age.
The convention witnessed enthusiastic participation fromÌý100 school principals and teachers presentÌýat the venue representing government schools ofÌýMumbai. Distinguished guests at the event includedÌýMr. Nisar Khan,ÌýDeputy Education Officer, Western Suburb, Mumbai,ÌýMr. Gorakhnath Bhawari, Administrative Officer Schools, Education, Mumbai,ÌýMr. Prabhu Nagaraj,ÌýOperating Officer, Corporate Affairs andÌýMr. Harpreet Singh,ÌýGeneral Manager, Safety Riding Division – Corporate Affairs along with other esteemed representatives from the government and HMSI.
In the context of India’s challenging traffic environment, HMSI emphasizes on the crucial role of education and mindset development in shapingÌýresponsible road behavior. The convention aimed to address the pressing need for enhanced road safety awareness among students and communities. With the current traffic scenario in India highlighting the necessity for disciplined road usage, HMSI focuses on presentingÌýinnovative educational modulesÌýdesigned to instill aÌýsafety-first mindsetÌýin children.
Anchored by HMSIº£½ÇÖ±²¥ global safety sloganÌý‘Safety for Everyone’,Ìýthese specially curatedÌýage-specific modulesÌýare intended to be integrated into school curriculums, providing students with essential road safety knowledge and skills. With relentless efforts, HMSI has successfully conductedÌý13 Road SafetyÌýconventionsÌýacross the country so far, that have already reachedÌýover 1600 schoolsÌýand educated more thanÌý4.7 lakh studentsÌýnationwide. Building on these achievements, HMSI is poised to expand its road safety initiatives to more cities in the coming months.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter Indiaº£½ÇÖ±²¥ CSR commitment towards Road Safety:
In April 2021, Honda announced its goal of achievingÌýzero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles worldwide by 2050. As part of its broader CSR strategy, HMSI aligns with the companyº£½ÇÖ±²¥ global vision for zero traffic fatalities by 2050 and the Government of Indiaº£½ÇÖ±²¥ goal of halving road fatalities by 2030.
HMSI strives to be a company which society wants to existÌýand is strongly focusing on road safety awareness to all sections of the community with unique ideas catering to each segment from school kids to corporates and society at large. One critical aspect of achieving this goal is inculcating aÌýpositive mindsetÌýtowards road safety in our children by the year 2030 and continuing to educate them thereafter.
The companyº£½ÇÖ±²¥ comprehensive road safety programs include daily sessions at our adopted 10 Traffic Training Parks and 6 Safety Driving Education Centers across the country. These sessions are conducted by our skilled safety instructors to make road safety education accessible to every part of society. HMSIº£½ÇÖ±²¥ road safety initiatives have impacted overÌý90 lakhÌýIndians yet.
HMSIÌýalso recently launched its innovative digital road safety learning platform,ÌýE-Gurukul, thisÌýE-GurukulÌýplatform offers training modules tailored for three specific age groups from 5 years to 18 years ensuring a comprehensive approach towards road safety. Currently the modules are available inÌýmultiple languagesÌýlike Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and English—to ensure inclusivity and regional relevance andÌýE-GurukulÌýcan be accessed atÌýegurukul.honda.hmsi.in. The platform supports live streaming or downloading, and multilingual modules to ensure accessibility across diverse regions. The launch ofÌýE-GurukulÌýis part of HMSIº£½ÇÖ±²¥ ongoing efforts to empower children, educators, and dealers to champion safe road practices.ÌýThe initiative will expand to cover schools in every state, promoting road safety education tailored to different age groups.
