Bengaluru, May 15, 2025: IITM Pravartak (technology innovation hub of IIT Madras), funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with Emeritus, and IBM, has introduced the Advanced Certification Programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, designed to bridge the growing gap between AI innovation and industry-ready talent. With AI poised to create 12 million more jobs than it displaces by 2025 as per the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2023, this programme addresses the skills gap by combining world-class academic expertise, industry insights, and a focus on Hands-on applications.

This programme is designed for professionals across various domains who aspire to advance their careers by mastering AI and ML. It caters to data scientists and software engineers aiming to enhance their technical expertise, business analysts and consultants looking to leverage AI for data-driven decision-making, as well as product managers and Product owners looking to integrate AI/ML into product strategies. Additionally, it is ideal for executives and leaders seeking to understand the strategic implications of AI and its role in driving organisational transformation.

Led by esteemed IITM Pravartak empanelled faculty, including Professor C. Chandra Sekhar and Professor Dileep A.D, the Advanced Certification Programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning covers foundational concepts, advanced topics like Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), and their real-world applications. It includes weekly-recorded videos for self-paced learning and live masterclasses, a two-week capstone project, and an optional two-day campus immersion at IITM Research Park, enriching the educational experience.

Key highlights of the programme include:

• Professional IBM Certifications: Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be provided with three professional IBM certifications to make them industry-ready.
• Expert-Led Learning: Live sessions by industry professionals complement recorded videos, blending academic rigor with practical insights to create well-rounded AI and ML professionals.
• Hands-on Learning: More than 25 tools and libraries, including TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn and the latest Gen AI models such as Mistral. The programme also includes 30+ projects and cases as well as the latest research papers for real-world case studies and in-depth insights.
• Portfolio Development: Participants can build an industry-ready GitHub and Kaggle portfolio to showcase their skills and stand out in the competitive job market.
• Optional Campus Immersion: Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to visit the IITM Research Park and meet the faculty, researchers, and other AI and ML enthusiasts.
